Italy? Almost....
The day has come. I no longer have a tubie. Mary Farris had her g-tube removed last week. She took it hard. It was like a part of her was missing; it is all she has ever known. She cried for the first few days, but we explained to her why she no longer needed it. We celebrated with balloons and cake (of course) and some bubble blowing on the porch. She is doing much better and is healing quickly.
Mary Farris started her daycare at our neighbor's house. She absolutely loves it and cried when she left the first few days! Ms Tracy is great with her and is really helpful with her feeding issues and helping build her stair climbing skills. Homecare will end in the next week or so. We have come to adore our nurses and they have become family to us. We will really miss them.
Our behavior evaluation was not what we expected. We are now on a waiting list (again) for behavior therapy. They feel like Mary Farris has sensory processing disorder (SPD) and needs OT. She is being scheduled for another evaluation for that. Seems like it is always something. Thanks so much prematurity, NOT. We have chosen a new pediatrician that is here in town and are very excited to have her! The office we were using is just too busy and doesn't seem to have that personal touch our little rockstar needs. We continue to be amazed everyday at the miracle that is our baby girl. Sorry, Mary Farris, big girl, and we thank you for your continued prayers~
